There are some people in everyones life who are meant to be teachers and are going to be a part of learning process. The best teachers tend to be the ones who make you the craziest. Crazy, as in: The amount of anger i have towards them, i never thought i could have such rageful thoughts about them. I am a nice person. But my feelings on some of my teachers make me feel not nice.
One of my friend tells me that everyone we meet in life has a role to play. They come unexpectedly with a lesson to teach and stay till they do thier job.Its foolish to force ourself to keep them further. We have to learn to let go people. Whenever someone leaves me i take a moment and think on his lines. Its just so true.
I have learnt lessons hard way. My friend counter argues that the lessons life teaches are always simple but we take it the hard way. May be if lessons look too simple we may forget the message soon. Its good to learn it the hard way. People say pain softens our hard edges and deepens our interaction with others. It helps us learn so that we can then venture into the world wiser, softer, richer, more compassionate. It is all part of a bigger picture;

Battle of Loneliness
Every person on this earth is fighting the battle of loneliness. Some are sheltered temporarily. For some its a wide open battle. Like a knife thrust into the stomach, the feeling of emptiness can cause lot of pain.
Loneliness has nothing to do with being alone. Just the feeling of someone distant and far being with you always can drive loneliness away. You could be hundreds of miles away from that person. But to put responsibility for your happiness in someone else’s hand is a scary thought, unless that person happens to be always available, never fails, never changing yet never boring. To expect such quality from a human is foolish and is not fair to the other person. Hence learn to find happiness in yourself. Your happiness is your responsiblity.
Loneliness is a tough feeling to fight. Dont give up. Keep fighting : neither withdraw from people, nor act in haste.

First Love
| People say first love is unforgettable. Some say that you will never again fall in love as deep as the first one. Is that true? Is first love the best love? Why do people talk so much about first love? I say there is nothing like "First is Best". People may fall for wrong person. They may eventually meet the ideal person at later point of life. Of course first love is the hardest one for anyone to overcome. That is when you learn to know the way your body reacts to strange human emotions. Emotions which are totally unknown starts leading us. According to me, our body is like ocean of emotions. Thousands of emotions control our daily life. We learn to tackle them in due course of time. First love is one such significant part. Once you learn your emotions, your body starts accepting and you tune them to your comfort. With that, the pain which could have caused otherwise would drastically reduce. Hence people who go through breakup after first one would certainly be more strong to tackle emotions. That doesn't really mean that the love existed wasn't enormous. Its just the lesson life would have taught !!!! |

Blind Date
Couple of days back my friend asked me if i have ever been on a date before. It took me by surprise. I started thinking on what people call a date. Every stranger we meet in life can be a vital part at later stages. We start blank and then start knowing more about a person. Dating is something which is arranged for two people to meet with the prospect of getting into a relationship. It can be arranged by a third person or can be self. Then what is called a blind date. Its when a person meet a total stranger about whom he or she knows nothing.
Well, have i been on a date then? I have met many strangers who are a significant part of my life today. It could be arranged by a third person but still it falls short of one reason - "Relation"!!!

Round 2 Amazon
| Hai.Is this sushma!!! This is Brian, Software Development Engineer from Amazon. I woke up from my bed and started looking for the note i had written for the very famous question to explain about oneself. I always have problem answering that. To my mystery he had a different googly. So Sushma, Why Amazon? I was not at all prepared for that question. I had real tough time answering the same. But i had no choice to skip it. Mention any project you had worked on which made you proud? That was the same question i was asked for in the first round too. It was simple for me to answer. He then started asking questions based on whatever i spoke and the discussion started here. He later asked if i am comfortable with C++. Common!! i am a java programmer. He then started asking technical questions.What is the difference between a class and an object..difference between boxing and unboxing..those were pretty straightforward to handle. I went on explaining things my way. Then started more on oops concepts. Explain polymorphism without quoting an example. That sounded like a GRE question to me. I literally had to give an English definition for polymorphism without using technical jargon's and scenarios to support my explanation. Then came the question on collections to name all concrete classes and interfaces. Then started with the famous topic "data structures". Given a binary tree how would you reverse it. I gave him two solutions both o(n) with took more space and o(n) with constant space complexity. Then another googly. Design a simple file system. That made me dizzy for a moment. But i had to buckle up and start solving it. I came up with a simple file system design with two main concrete classes a File and a Directory and started rolling out my design. Then came more questions on how better the design could be improved. His questions were dicey sometimes. But i had to handle it the best possible way i could. Then came the famous Fibonacci sequence generator. I used a simple iterative approach to solve the same. He asked if there could be any alternative solutions. Of course the old enemy recursion is there always. I then had to justify my choice with strong reasons. Sushma, do you have any questions for me? I was greatly relaxed to know that the interviewer is finishing up the interview. I checked the time. It was exact 1 hour since we started the call . At last things did end on a good note. I was pretty satisfied with whatever i could come up with at that particular time. I hope to hear from them soon. |
Strange human thoughts
I sometimes wonder why we think the way we actually do in real life. There should be someone controlling every part of our thoughts. Although its hard to explain the way it works i can only say that, the behavoiur is quite a strange thing to understand. Let me not get into those thoughts now. I will have to keep my mind set for the interview. I am facing second round of interview from Amazon today. I am hoping to do good. Will post more on that in a while.
My first day
I never had intention of having my own blog. I somehow felt like sharing my interests with like minded people and hence started with blog spot. Its a hot sunny day at Memphis. Life seems to be moving the same for all. Everyone is out there for some reason. I know i have some reason too. That's what makes life interesting.
